To Secure Your Passport

Your passport is the most valuable document when you travel overseas frequently. It's as proof of your citizenship. You should carefully guard it. Do not use it as collateral for any loan or lend it to anyone. This is the best form of identification of a person in the wild country. You'll really need it when you get the mail or check into hotels, embassies or consulates.
When entering some countries or register at the hotel, you may be asked to fill out police certificate lists the name, passport number, destination, local address, and reason for travel. You may be asked to leave the passport at the hotel reception desk overnight so it can be checked by local police officials. This is normal procedure required by local law.
